i was just wondering if there is any musical talent here on the Uplink forums..... so - what instrument(s) do you play, how long have you been playing, what kind of music do you play, bands, grades, etc etc

myself, i'm a guitarist, been playing 5 years, i have grade 4, but thats the only exam i've taken - i'm about 6/8 level (there is no 7 by the way, odd i know). i'm in 2 bands and i play all sorts, i've played progressive, rock, metal (my main style), classical, some jazz, a fair bit of blues, bits of country. quite versatile me :)

i also have a GCSE in music (an A as well i'll have you know ;)), and am taking a music tech course next year at college

Well, I played the piano and the keyboard for five years... But I quit a few years ago due to other hobbies.
But I've got some talents left, though :).

I play keyboard (Yamaha PSR 740 *glee*) and acoustic guitar (not so good with that, though).

Plus, I like popping those little plastic air cushions they always pack with breakable stuff. I guess that counts as music, too (only depends on who you're talking to, really).

Damn thee. I only have the 540. (although I did use to play on the 740 )

Yeah, I play on the keyboard, have been for about 5 years now. I stopped taking lessons though due to lessons (of the educational compulsory kind) and exams and stuff. (I got an A in my Music GCSE too :))

You saying bass players are talentless? I sure hope that's not what you are implying because I would hate have to bring my wrath down on you...

I've played Clarinet, Bass Clarinet and Cornet :)  I quit because the conductor of the only good band I was in was fired, and the other two bands were... crap to say the least.

Sorry if i insulted you there. I have played the bass for about 8 or 9 years, and i've had people say that to me so many times that i try to get it out of the way before anyone else says it. sorry if i offended you Punisher Bass
