*blink* All I posted that could be construed as 'answers' was a two word description of a question - I didn't give my answer (which, as I said, may well have been wrong), I didn't hint at an answer, I just described the question. In one word (the other word was 'the'). I could understand it if the test questions were hidden to non-entrants or something, but it's all publically available!

I cede the remarking.

Khan - I counted the people who'd got a score up on the results page. Only 60 had done it when I wrote the post. Now it's 61. Surprising, really - I guess some people don't know it's started yet.

Adriac - he used more than 7 characters typing the disclaimer, so I'm guessing it wasn't laziness. Still surprising the disclaimer was in normal font size and therefore inconspicuous - again, it would only have taken 7 characters to make it bold.

To the creator(s) of the challenge - will the answers be posted somewhere? Cause I have no idea wich ones I failed (ok, 3 were the ones with text boxes but the other 4?)
There is no knowledge that is not power.

I thank you not for that lack of coding there MegaDeth.
In a mental ability test, using caps is not downgraded. So why is it here? I take it then you were too lazy to add this peice of code?:

Code: Select all

string strtolower ( string str)

Returns string with all alphabetic characters converted to lowercase.

for example:
$str = "Mary Had A Little Lamb and She LOVED It So";
$str = strtolower($str);
print $str;

Prints: mary had a little lamb and she loved it so

Why could you not have used that?
you only had to add it on those two text boxes. instead you typed out the fact that it had to be lower case, and thus deprived some of us of valuable points.
Im my view, thats just bad coding.

I vote for a repeat of the challenge. It was released too hastily, and it's simply unfair that some people get less points because they have a minimal attention span (equal to that of a 3 year old baby trapped in Toys R' Us), caused by too many hours of watching 12-second commercials on TV so they can't even read a page of text to the end without forgetting what was written at the beginning.

I rest my case -_~

Right....

Stop all your fucking moaning...

If you dont read the instructions it is not our fault....

If we decide to test your ability to read/listen and follow instructions as part of the intelligence test, and therefore penalise you for not doing so - that is well within the remit of the challenge...

The reason instructions are there, are to be followed...

I can only speak for myself here, there will not/shouldnt be any retake of the test as the people who cant take the time to read 1 line of instruction deserve not to get any points for said questions....

And neothermic, it was me who coded the test.  I deliberately left out the ability to write in any case, as i thought it would catch some idiots out. CLEARLY IT HAS! If you cant follow, or even read, one simple instruction - wot makes you: 1, think you deserve points in this challenge? or 2, SMART ENOUGH TO CRITICISE THE PERSON WHO CODED IT?!

Now guys, STFU and get on with it!

This was a lame challenge, and it was meant as an icebreaker... the next ones get better....!
