You can now get the UHL Challenge 5 from here, or download it directly from here.
The challenge runs until Tuesday 24th June at 11:59PM British Time.
When you have finished the challenge, email the Zipped user file to icepick@modlink.net along with the name you want on the score board.
If your entry doesnt have your name with it, or isnt zipped, it will just be ignored, so dont forget.
So, go get the challenge, and good luck!

I already tried to download it, it came as a wordpad file?!?  i tried putting it in the usr directory (with and without giving it a .usr extension) and still nothing.  What do you do with it?

Eh?
Its a zip file. In the zip file are instructions and a user file. You read the intructions, put the user file in your uplink/users directory, and play through the challenge.

i get a notepad file whenever I try and download nything except the patch, skins, gateways, guides, all of them.  I've emailed PB about it, but he didn't seem to be able to help me.

sounds like your computer thinks zip files are txt files.
could be:
1) you've done something wierd, right click on the file -> properties -> open with.
2) you need an unzip program.  i suggest winrar.
3) you have virus.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Damn - fifteen minutes before me! Oh well... Anyone else finished?

Edit: Oops - my computer clock is fast. That means it's probably closer to ten minutes.

Yeah, #4 was much harder though. A nice easier one to get us back into the routine perhaps...? ;)

Is the first person to do it the winner? In that case, I lost, because I can't be bothered with it tonight :P

That would be my guess, especially when you consider that there were a couple of puzzles in there that could have been really quite nasty without Icepick's hints <Please dont tell stuff about the challenge - Icepick> Oh yeah - did anyone actually figure out the code for the first wireless receiver in Data Storage? If so, could you PM me to tell me how? I just brute forced it.

EDIT: Darksun posted while I was writing my post - sorry for the confusion. And in answer to your question Darksun, yeah - it's the first person to send in the user file. Which means I might just get more than one point this time!

a) elDiablo made the LANs, hence the random references to cheese. ;)

b) I didn't use the LAN Force for any of it. It wasn't given to us, so it wasn't needed. So therefore I must have done, can't remember what the clue was though. Anyway, I'm keeping my mouth sealed until I get my points. :P
