is there any way to change uplink rating like expert and insane and stuff would you have to hex edit it becouse im an expert at hex editing or is it the data.dat becouse both of those options are easy

this is my first post as cybertoken i used to be clown

Well, normal coding practice would be to declare a list of constants, so the save file would only contain integers, and the program would match up the strings when it came to display them.

Identifying one byte among the entire userfile is going to be tricky. You could take the same .usr just before and after geting a new rank, that way you would only have a limited amount of data to check, the bits that changed between the two versions. Unfortunately the .usr file contains a complete worldstate, all the logs youve left and so on, so there might be a lot of changes in the data.

Or it might just be easier to get your rank up by playing the game. Its not that hard once you know what your doing.

You mean you've made a comprehensive map of the .usr file, accounting for every single byte's meaning, and that isn't one? Are you sure? Why don't you go double check.
