Listen guy...
You are new here.
A lot of the participants of this thread are not.
Translation: Shut up and stop telling us what to do.

How about because it's something to do? It isnt exactly easy, you have to think of a way of doing it. It's problem solving, sure it takes about 10 minutes, but hey, it's still 10 minutes of comming up with a solution to a problem. That's what uplink is based on. You have to hack the GCC, go work out how to do it.

Just because you dont find something interesting, doesnt mean it isnt

Also, if you had a clue about the state of play of uplink mods, you'd realise it would be somewhat impossible to 'code' any mods. Wait for the Dev CD, then you'll have your mods. If it was possible to go out and make some full on mods, dont you think someone would have in the year and half Uplink has been around??

As for being new here, exactly how long have you been around then? I sure don't remember seeing you on IRC, or on the forums that much, in the year or so I've been here.

The point of  doing it was that a few people had been asking programming type questions and that it was a reasonable task for someone new to programming to try. It is a real world problem which has been researched by some of the greatest minds in hostory, and is still being looked at today.

The various algorithms you can use are easily searchable on the web, and we had a variety of entries.

If you find it a pointless thread, simply don't respond to it and it will die off on its own. Responding to it keeps it alive longer, so I suggest that if you don't have anything worthwhile to say on the subject that you shut up.

Allow me to clear something up.

Proxy Blue == GreenLeaf

Although it seems that his "new leaf" has mysteriously disappeared.
