i got mine warezed (dont flame me, every1 here already knows that i got it that way) back in october 2001. heh, comming t think about it, it was a lot of time ago :\

though i came to the forums in july 2002.

let me just say , that the forum has changed a lot in this time.

Got the PCG demo ordered it in HMV as there were no copies in Ireland, waited a week got it was happy

Well I got the demo from PCG way way back around this time last year.  Joined up in Feb 2002 and got the game recently from Amazon.co.uk as a reward to myself for finishing university.  Sigh, I've had to wait quite a while, but it's been worth it.  I just can't stop playing this highly addictive game.

I got the demo in 2000, at my mom's office, but I suck royally at it, and I dont have a windows computer so I never bought it. You can easily see how long I've been hanging out.

I got the demo in february in PCG, got the game straight away, and joined the forums in March.

Can't remember how i found about the game, however i dowloaded the demo that day, joined the forum the next day and bought the game a week later.

I got the demo off PC gamer, asked for (and got) the game for christmas, and I joined the forums in may (once I had completed the game, and wouldnt sound like a complete N00b).

Bought and joined December 30th, 2001.  I think I bought it after 4 days of playing the demo.  I had some spare money from something and decided to purchase it.  A lot of stuff has changed since then...

edit: The date was a day off.

Subscribed to pcg so i got demo a few days before most, fell in love immediately, played the demo for over 5 hours straight that weekend, making a load of users :p, then ordered the game that same weekend, got it during the week, joined the forum the next saturday, posted like 5 times in the few weeks that followed, left the forums cos the same topics were repeated over and over and over and over again, came back a couple weeks ago because i heard about the new patches with lan hacking, and am addicted again :p

There is a Linux version of the game...but it sounds to me like you're a Mac user (woo!).  Good news: they are coming out with a Mac port. :biggrin:

Hmm I downloaded the demo sometime january after seeing it at TuxGames.com cuz it sounded interesting... and it was (not a surprise to most people) then after a 2 days of searching for a copy in a store here in australia (yeah yeah it's not in stores over here blah blah) then ordered it off teh 'net with my mum's creditcard (with permission OF COURSE!) and then a week and 1 day after that I had it arrive in a dvd-style case along with a dang small bonus disk.

Then he gave me the demo and i got into the game and managed to Copy the full version of  one of my other mates and got addicted and i still play it.

Played the demo, then bought the full version.

and started here in july 2002

And i still think is the most realistic hacker sim ever made
