After playing the Uplink demo, I was very pursuaded to buy the full game. I discovered the game recently when I was visiting the Just Adventure+ Website and saw an announcement about that it was soon to be released in the USA. I live in the USA, and when I saw about ordering information about that you can only purchase it online in the USA, I assumed that it had been out for awhile. The next day I see the news update about the release in the USA of Uplink on the Uplink main page, (Game titled "Uplink: Hackers Elite") so I was wondering what would the benefeits be of of waiting for Uplink to be released in the US and then purchase it, or just going ahead and purchaseing it online before the USA version is released. Could you please explain what the differences will be upon my decesion?

Summary:
Basicly could you just explain to me if and/or why I should wait for Uplink to be released in the US (where I live) rather than ordering it offline?
Yes I'm a n00b. Don't make a big deal out of it.

You shouldn't wait.  There are no real advantages to waiting for the US release.  The only difference will be you will have to wait longer for the US release.  :)

They might americanize the spellings for us.

Cheque... hehe. I'll never get used to that spelling...

Otaconj: Chris (the man who programed Uplink) told me himself that the American version will only feature a different installer and a few graphic changes. That's it and that's all. The version that will basically be version 1.1 in a new box. So if you are willing to wait then do it, if not then just buy it from the IV website.

Also one advantige to ordering Uplink directly from IV would not only be getting it sooner, but you could also order the bonus disk with it and save a little bit of money. Before you ask, the bonus disk is a cd filled with behind the sceens stuff on the making of Uplink and it also outlines their future plans for Uplink.

Yea here is what he said earlier about it:

Quote: from Chris on 11:28 pm on Jan. 14, 2003[br]The USA shop version most likely won't hit shelves until March.  It's an almost identical version to the one we sell - just different box art, installer, a few logos changed etc.  The patches on our site will work with either version fine.
