Maybe from now on as an addition to the Uplink package a membership username and password is supplied.  Using this you can sign up to the forum where you can change your username and password to what ever you want.  The forum could be altered so that this is the only way to create an account to access the forum, by using an account the mods have set up.  Therefore anybody who has not purchased the game or warezed it then could not come here and mess around on the forum at least.

The thing is...
The forum is made by some one else... Ikonboard (Yea I know its obvious :P)
It would need a fair bit of code...
To check whether the code it ok... Check that someone hasn't just typed the URL to get to the 'Internal' bit...
Check the code is hard to view, to prevent people working out the two letters/numbers
Prevent guessing
Prevent using search engines to find the content and using a 'home' type button...

So not to easy... :)

Just don't use those thigs like Kaaza...
And, like Tory Boy said... Stop complaining and just you buy the game...

and what about people who buy the game for a family?

me and my brother use the same one, so only one of us would be able to come on the forums. :(

Especially if (as one person has done recently), they come on here and start swearing and insulting people!

Come on mods, for the good of us all!

Should we realy take the advice of someone who kills cats? (or at least The Cat) ;)

Is it possible to shut down websites selling warez? Because otherwise 'taking action' would be rather pointless.
I couldn't think of a good signature, so I wrote this instead.

Depending on the server the person uses to host the website warez may and should be banned!!! So yes, inebriateddonkey, websites can be shut down for providing warez! :) So if you locate any sites, please dont post them on the forum - but email them to chris@introversion.co.uk.

would it be possible to put a cookie on the computer of a banned person so that every time they tried to create a new user at the forum they would be denied?
Since we cannot know all that there is to be known about anything, we ought to know a little about everything.  Blaise Pascal (1623 - 1662)

Yes, but deleting cookies is not too hard, so it wouldn't really do much.  Although if they come back it is easy enough to just ban them again.  :)

What you should do is just ignore people who piss you off, if you see any posts along the lines of "Code card pleaze!!!!!1!!!11!!" or "Uplink 4 w4r3z", "U suc!!!!!!!!!11111" Therese always the option of ignoring it, so it gets 0 views and 0 posts and ice, or ein can lock it and it'll quickly fall away.

(Like this will ever happen tho, too many people are quick to anger and can't leave somthing be.)

Yes, well, just because some of us get a bit angry about warez monkeys now and then. still great idea.

I personaly think that first all can do it's to ignore posts.
Secondly all codes and so on will be not so effective as you all think, because everybody who wants - finds how to make his product full. And there will be more work to create a system. So just ignore and make sure U BUY a copy of Uplink.   :)
