What Operating System?

Dual boot RedHat 8 and Windows XP on Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop. (Nifty machine, but little support from RedHat.)
Nvidia Geforce 2 Go  (gonna upgrade to Geforce 4 440 Go) P4 1.6 gigahertz and a 15'' screen.
All for 1600 bucks. Go figure...

i'm quit interested in beastie (freeBSD) is it easy to install. is installation like rh7.1 and can i dual boot it on a machine w/ w2k

FreeBSD is tough, until you get used to it. It's easy to set up. The installation is somewhat similar to rh7.1 text install. (it's text only)

I will help you with FreeBSD 4.5+ at any time. Just give me a buz...

FreeBSD is not neccessarily text only, you can use XFree with it just like Linux.  :)

I've got an old Apple II sitting around some where.  Gotta love Dig Dug and Trapazoid.  :)

You're goddamn right. Retro stuff is great. It's all about the gameplay, not brilliant graphics (let's face it, most games attempt, purely, to put decent graphics in their game. If it's good, it's probably an accident.

At the moment I might stick with ME on my 1ghz its reliable no problems with games as I like playing older games that wont work on 2k so I'll compromise, as for my other machines I'm running

95 on my 200 (was SUSE til someone wanted to use the machine for a couple of months)

and  95 on my 486 laptop
