HA! Dark Signs is online! This is gonna be the best game ever! Please note - I am beta-testing the game. It is not a hoax.

The game is called DarkSigns: Console Reality, but you can call it DarkSigns for short.  Screenshots are here:

i know trying to play uplink without first reading the tutorial may be difficult.  but that game looks plain ridiculously confusing, and from what i see, it requires lots of computer know-how.

Dude this looks so cool. Got a couple of questions though
1. Will there be a public beta? and if so when?
2. In multiplayer when you say your machine is hacked what do you mean by that (and yes i'am paraniod)
3. and finally how much will it cost?

Those screenshots are confusing if you are not properly introduced to the game. There will be an in built tutorial which will be easy to follow in the final version.

1. Will there be a public beta? and if so when?
We are not publically releasing any beta version.
Please don't ask to become a beta tester.

2. In multiplayer when you say your machine is hacked what do you mean by that (and yes i'am paraniod)
Your machine in the game, not in real life. In the game however, people will see your real ip address. We will take precautions to make sure the game is secure in reality.

3. and finally how much will it cost?
Depeding on the final version, the game will cost $20 - $25.

I just want to say: I'm frickin' pumped for this game. It looked sweet before the multiplayer announcement. Now it is just ridiculously awesome! Best of luck to it's success. If we're lucky, Uplink 2 will be even better than Darksigns. (or console reality, whichever it is...)

Thanks kaaphi.

There are some better quality screenshots online now.

Each one is only about 12kb.

Was the website updated recently? I remember it looking way crappier before... Anyway, it's sweet now! Kudos to the web designer. I really can't contain my excitement for this thing to come out. A real, fully console game -- wow, I shudder to think of the hours I will waste. This thing could easily steal more of my soul than Uplink did.

This game looks and sounds great to me, the only thing I'm worried about, is that people can see your real IP.

Also on some of the screenshots you can see traces, and they almost look like REAL traces (proxy first, then some other sites,...). They AREN'T, are they?

Those traces aren't real, we just tried to make them *look* as real as we could.

About your real IP, we have decided to not show players real addresses in the game, however each player will be given their own Dark Signs IP address for the game when they register for a multiplayer account.

Also, you will be able to register for accounts on the website within this week. You will need an account to logon to the multiplayer game.

is it just an online game?  do you pay for an account, or a cd with the game and online info on it?

from what I understand, no.

i'm sure that there would be a single player option.

but anyways, not playing on-line is a great lost.

Dark Signs is not just online.

When you buy the game you will be paying for a download file (or CD) and access to the Multiplayer Network. The game will have a good single player option, which is what was oringinally intended for the game.
