Perhaps Introversion should create an IRC channel under their control for use with the game, and allow only Introversion personnel have the power to kick and ban.

None of the Introversion crew are on IRC enough to handle that. The place would be 10 times worse than #uplink.

what staff?
chris does pretty much everthing himself and he hasnt got time to visit IRC himslef
he comes sometimes but not often:(

the only way is to give op power to responsible everyday users like zaptan except for the responsible part + icepick

but the rules ate posted, Chanserv notices you them when you enter, and it does say no warez. Just because you dont READ the damn rules does not mean they are not there

last time i saw him was patch 1.3 that saturday (possibly sunday) he cam on the IRC for a while
im sure he pops in other times too

Hmm I don't recall seeing them. But if, like you say, they are a notice, mine go into the status window so I may have missed them. And if, as you say, it say "no warez" there was no pirating of software going on, simply a discussion about the hypocrisy of various people on the subject.

Edit: Yes ChIcO Thank you for pasting them. It says nothing about the discussion of warez.

Chico, you will never have ops in #uplink.... at least not as long as i have my 39!!!! You spam too much... Zaptan is in general a fair op.. its just idiots who find him over strict... obey the rules and he wont interfere... well, unless hes in a particularly jokey mood!!!

Now, heres a piece of advice your you NKD, you dont like the ops, go to another chan... make your own... whatever! just stop moaning!!!

Also, whats the point in having power if you dont abuse it occasionally! [/joke]

It appears now on the status window, instead of the channel (well on my pc neway) so look at it and be warned (or sneak off to some other channel and talk about it!)

The reason it now appears in the system window, unlike in the past when it appeared in the channel window, is that chanserv is no long in #uplink. For those of you who have been going to #uplink for a while, you should know that Chanserv being in chan was a new phenomenon and was brought in for the very reason of ppl not noticing the rules of the chan cause they were in the system window!

I think, Wolflord or Zaptan, should add a greet to one of the 2 bots, that notices anyone who joins the chan the rules... its the simplest way to ensure ppl get them without having chanserv!
