I have just registered a new domain with totalregistrations and i am looking for a good(i.e free or v cheap) place to host my site using my new domain.  any ideas or tips anyone???
I'm new to this if you havent already guessed and it was a total impulse thing.  help needed desperately!

Any idea what features you want?  Scripting, .htaccess, amount of space, banner/popup ads, monthly bandwidth?

You might also try going to www.google.com, and searching for 'free web hosting', etc, maybe adding a list of features that you want.

http://www.web1000.com offers 50mb free hosting.  And they don't put any adds on your site.  They support FTP too.

For a good list of free web space providers, try http://www.freewebspace.net/  It is a good site, and you can find a lot of good providers.

www.host.sk is nice, they offer PHP, MySQL, UNLIMITED SPACE, 24/7 FTP access, shell acces etc.

I've got my game hosted there, but the only damn stupid thing is: The site is like 2 days a week really slow and the database has a limited amount of connections.

i use freeshit, sorry freeservers, htey give you a better address then web1000 and all the rest but only 12 MB of space, address will look something like this www.yourname.8m.com.
They also offer FTP access and web editor for the non literate in HTML and offer advertising so you can make money on your website at the same time.
