This has all the questions from the old one that i felt were asked enough to justify it.... and it also tells people to bother with only the first post in the description. But enough blabbering on.... heres the FAQ.
Q. Ive lost my Code Card/My copy of Uplink didnt come with a code card, where can i get a new one?
A. Contact Introversion Software at Uplink@Introversion.co.uk with your Order number, and they should be able to provide you with a new card.

I dont mean to sound arrogant, but this is the best, easiest, fastest way to hack a bank, if it doesnt work, you're doing something wrong.
Q. How do I use the Voice analyser?
A. First you need to find the phone number of a system admin. These can be found at the Public access server of a company. Connect to the number of the person whose voice you need, then run the analyser. This will record the voice, and you can play it back when you're at a voice id system for the same company.
Q. How do I use multiplayer?/How do the Network options work?

Q. Where can i download a copy of Uplink?
A. You can't, you can only get Uplink by buying it Directly from Introversion, and it is sent to you on CD
Q. Are there any cheats for Uplink?
A. Yes, but they arent supposed to be in the game, and will hopefully be removed in the patch. Nobody will tell you how to access, though you maybe able to find a hint if you search the forum.
There are several patches availible that will make the game easier. They can be downloaded from The Hackers Shadow and [url=Downlink.realgamers.net]Downlink[/url]
Q.Where do i get the special missions?
A. There are 12 special missions in total. 5 of them are done throught the ARC storyline, and 5 are done through the Arunmor Storyline. The other 2 are hidden in the game and can be done at anytime.
Q. I dont have a credit card, how can i get Uplink?

Q. How do i find the Gamebible password/Introversion's Ip/[continue list of secrets here]?
A. These are secrets, and should be found your selves. There are numrous hints for most of the secrets on the game around this forum, its just a matter of looking. Be careful though, some of them contain the actual answers, and those of you wanting to work them out for your selves may have things ruined for you.
Q. How do i use the console?
A. If you type Help into the console, it will give you a full list of commands you can use.
Q. ARC Didnt send me an email, why not?/How do i start the story line?
A. You can become involved in the story line once you recieve the Email from the dead hacker. Once you have this, you need to try and hack the ARC Central Mainframe with the name and password he gives you (though the codes wont actually work). Then hack the system normally. After that, ARC will contact you (be patient though as it sometimes takes a while)
Q. How the do you use the bypassing software? I keep on clicking it but nothing happens!
A. You first have to get the HUD upgrade for 20,000c. Then you have to buy the proper bypassing software. (You probably already know that.) When you are done that, make your usual bounce route and connect to your target. Before you do anything click on the HUD upgrade icon located at the bottom of your screen. It's right next to the 'Send an e-mail' icon. After you do that, it will proceed to automatically analyze the security of the target. Icons of what security the target has will appear. Don't close this window! Then, open whatever bypass software you need. Left click on the bypasser and drag it over the security icon(it should turn a lighter color blue) and drop it onto the icon. That's it! (Thanks to TheDrop for supplying this one.)
Q. How to I trace a balance transfer?
A. Follow these steps, and you should have no trouble. This is also made alot easier if you have the appropriate Monitor and Proxy bypassers.
1. Connect to the bank that the company have told you, using Internic as you first bounce point.
2. Click 'Manage an Existing Account', enter the account number as the user name, and use the password breaker on it.(After using the bypassers/disablers)
3. Enter the statement, and look for a large transfer (normally over 200,000 c) and note the IP and Account number.
4. Disconnect, then go to Internic, delete your connection logs. Then connect to the bank with the IP address you just noted (this can be found from Internic or the IP lookup).
5.Enter the account you noted down in the same way as the first, but this time enter the details section. Take the name EXACTLY and disconnect, deleting your logs from Internic as per usual.
6. Reply to the mission email, and type the Name of the person you found EXACTLY as it was at the bottom of the email (you need to hold the mouse cursor over the main box of the email), and click send. You should then recieve the mission complete email, and you money (which is really what its all about right
) Q. I got an Email from the dead Agent, but the Name and password he gave me didnt work, why not?
A. The account has been deleted, would you keep an account for a dead man on your system? However, if you try to enter the system with that name and password, later on, ARC will contact you and the story line will start properly. This will not happen if you dont try the dead Agents password.
Q. There are no jobs left on the mission board, what now?
A. If you click the fast forward button (the blue one at the top with the 2 arrows on it), then eventually a mission you can take will appear.
Q: How can I make the demo version into the full version of the game?
A: You can’t. It is called a demo for a reason. The reason being that it is a demo of the game which is not meant to be the full version of the game and never will be the full version of the game. If you want the full version of the game, then order it from the Uplink site (Thanks to Ravenshadow for this one)
Q. Im Having graphical Problems with my Kyro II, how can i fix it?
A. Try this, i have been told it works, though ive not tried it myself.
Create a new profile for Uplink in the 3d optimisation tab (under proporties for screen, settings tab click advanced then on the optimisation tab).
Click the arrow to create a profile for Uplink. Give the profile a name and browse to find the .exe file for uplink.
Now click the openGL tab and make sure you check the box in front of "use aplication specified buffering".
Start the game and hopefully there will be no flickering or tearing.
By checking the "Disable Waiting for Vertical Sync" box in the openGL optim.. you might gain som speed in the game.
Tip: Stay clear of the other boxes. In most cases it only makes it worse.

Q: What is in the Uplink Bank/Government Mainframe?
A: They are unhackable. But even if somehow you did manage to get in, the Government Mainframe is empty, and the Uplink bank has but one account - yours. Sorry, you can't hack it. (Thanks to Mos for this one)
Q. Where can i find Revelation? (WARNING: Some may consider this to be a story line spoiler!)
A. If you are doing the Story Line Missions, you will get it from what ever company you are working for as one of the missions. If you arent doing these missions, you can normally find it on one of ARC or Arunmors Systems, normally the Central Mainframe or file server, though you cant hack file servers, and only get the password if you do a mission for them that requires you to access their file server.
Q. I downloaded the patch, but it doesn't work, why not?
A. The patch is simply a replacement exe file. Run the extracter and point it to where ever you installed Uplink. It will then copy the new file over the old one.
Q. Is there an Uplink IRC Channel?
A. Yes, it can be found at:

Q. Ive ordered Uplink, how long will it take to arrive?
A. If you ordered it using a Credit Card, it should take about 2-3 days in the UK, about a week to the Europe and the US (normally less though) and maybe a couple of weeks to other places out side Europe. If you ordered with an International Money order, you should add a couple of days on for the payment to reach Introversion first.
Q. When is the patch gonna be out?
A. Nobody knows, SO DONT ASK!!!
