Ooh! Hadn't even /thought/ about that one. That's gotta be in my top five *somewhere*. Tron STILL rocks, even held up against crud like Operation Swordfish.. especially if you understand where the whole 'swordfish' routine came from. It's been said that if you got that joke, you hated the rest of the movie.. and I personally love watching Marx Brothers movies over blockbuster over-the-top cruft. Wit, instead of adrenalin. Alien and Aliens (there were only TWO movies I tell you! Bastards.. there IS no Alien^3 or Alien: Resurrection! They're totally unrelated, crappy movies!) being a marked exception to this rule.

Hey now, don't you go messing with TRON.
That is a very serious subject.
:)

To Talesin:
Yeah, but if it wasn't laid out so crappy and ran so slow the Velociraptor wouldn't have gotten in.;)
And don't start with the layout of the power substation.
And generators producing enough juice for the buildings and that much electric fence? Not to mention that high a voltage electric fence.

Hey, I'm totally serious. I love TRON.. still have a copy on laserdisc. GREAT quality. Only irritating part is having to flip it, and switch discs every now and then.

Yup, there are only two Alien movies !!!!
But well, what can you expect from a guy who used to make video-clips and suddenly does a movie...
No wonder A.... 3 was crap.

Yeah, but it's missing a modulator disc... I lost it somewhere near the waffle iron. Lousy waffles that day, come to think of it.

Mmmm, waffles.
Well, that decides it.
When I get up I'm going to IHOP.
Or Denny's?

Man, not another decision.

You know, they should make a movie thats a blend of:

Resiviour Dogs
Hackers
Wargames

Combine Dogs action stuff and dark humor, Hackers gliz, and Wargames realism.

*laughs*

Just as a sidenote,  TRON is in his 20th anniversary (was published in 1982), and there is a collector's edition on DVD!

I love wargames but mostley just for its old equipment. Like the main characters modem. When ever I see him  pick up the hand set I laugh.  Matrix is my other favorite (Come on there are hackers in it.).

Cut out 'Hackers' and you've got a winner there. I mean.. Reservoir Dogs ROCKS. WarGames is one of the definitive movies of the time. Hackers... is a dumbed-down pointy-clicky pretty-pretty movie for people who can't bear the sight of a command line. It just wouldn't fit into the semi-realism of the other movies at /all/. It's a fluff movie.. good to watch when you want a cruel laugh at the stupid cuts (I read the original book, they scalped it _almost_ as bad as they did Johnny Mnemonic) to make it accessible to the technophobes out there. Lowest common denominator has taken over films.. that's why *most* of the new ones SUCK.
