i use to like the secret levels on the old consoles like megadrive/genesis, game gear or the snes in the platform games, because they were always designed as if the artists took an acid trip whilst doing it.

the first arcade game i played was pac man.. it was new too heh..
i heard it described as a guy running around in a dark room listening to techno music while popping pills and running away from "ghosts" while tripping

A, you said cheats aren't there to be part of the game.
Could you tell me what you think the purpose of cheats are.

what about games like tony hawk's
where you earn your cheats by completing the game?
you had to keep replaying to get more cheats out
in the end i entered a 'special' mega cheat code
to unlock all the cheats and levels cos i was SICK
of the game, i had spanked it to death, but after
getting a stupid 9million point combo with the
infinite balance cheat, the sense of achievement
wasnt in the amount of points but in earning the balance
mode itself
i was just upset that the high score table doesnt
show if you had a cheat enabled or not

another point id like to make is that hacking a game,
making your own trainer with C++ or VisualBasic, and
doing what YOU want with it, can be more fun than
playing the game itself. And its educational.
And isnt this game supposed to be about
HACKING

I don't see what the problem is with cheating in games if people are admitting that they cheated. Personally I feel that using cheats spoils the game, but at the end of the day you've paid for it, play it however you like.

Hey, this topic is named Cheats, so if you don't like cheats just don't read this topic or blame cheaters (for cheating, duh ;-). This is a topic for people who do like to cheat, so all you anti-cheaters, get out of here.

Kadarom Douhrek - see troma's post at the start of page 2 (Posted on 12:37 am on Nov. 3, 2001 ). if you're seriously saying that you buy a game to cheat, then i don't understand you.

i remember completing the game driver for the PC - at the end it unlocks all the cheats (yes there's a separate cheat section in the menu) and has a pointless secret level (which i have to say is probably the most pointless and boring secret level i have ever seen). driver is a great game and after completing it, you feel some achivement. i explored the cheats on a few levels with super fast cars, but while it was a bit of fun to smash some cops up, i lost interest in about 15 minutes and then uninstalled the game. no challenge, no fun.

some cheats are there to stop obcessive people from playing the game over and over again, so some of them put in secret cheats that are unlocked when the game is over to help wind it down
