I would be very interested in being able to download the full version of Uplink once paid for, as I have no desire to:
1)Wait for delivery when I could download the game in a few seconds with a broadband connection
2)Own another piece of round plastic.
You guys should really consider this, as it would also cut down on costs.  If you do decided to offer it for download, please contact me at Jelan@3DActionPlanet.com.  Thanks!

I definitely support that!!!

The wait is killing me, and there is no reason to live at the real world speed when I live at the Internet speed the rest of my life. :)

I absolutely agree with that. 30 minutes after I downloaded the demo, I ordered the full game, and as I am in the US, I will probably have to play the demo for a week. There are quite a few problems with offering them for download though, bandwidth usage being the primary problem. From what I gather, the full version is much bigger than the demo version, correct?

Ah, the bandwidth usage wouldn't be so bad then... of course it depends on the connection the server is running off too though. Oh, well, the game is worth the wait anyway. :P I've never been this addicted to a game, except MUD, of couse.

For the linux client.  Together, they make a 62MB ISO-9660 cd image.  And though I would have LIKED to download the game, I couldn't.  Because, primarily, of authentication mechanisms, which are a PITA to create and manage.  SO, just bite the bullet on this one and wait.  Yes, it sucks.  But if you don't do it, you'll wait longer, and never even get the game.  :(

True, I hadn't counted all the stuff on the cd, only what was on my HD.

Which isn't too bad if you have broadband. Even 100MB only takes maybe an hour or less, depending on your downstream rating. And yeah.. I can understand how difficult it can be to code up a tight auth system, but it doesn't stop me from wanting to have it *now*. Hey, I'm impatient. ;) Gets stuff done quick.

I feel for you.  I really do.

I have BB too, and wanted to download it.  But assuming the auth was easy, but what about monthly bandwidth charges?
