The books are basically a journal/notes about the making of the game. As for cracking em, work it out for yerself like the rest of us did, thats half the fun...

You can get in on this very website.  I wouldn't get it just for the gamebibles unless you just have money to burn.  The first book is on the Uplink CD, that will get you started.  :)

I didn't get an Uplink CD, I registered it online.  Oh well, the DevCD won't work on my Mac anyway.  Unless there's something I don't know about.

Ambrosia the main Mac Publishers actually distribute the game through download (you buy a registration code).

They decided for some reason not to include the gamebible.  I asked Chris about it and he asked that I not put it up for download, again for some unknown reason.  Your not really missing much though.  And the second gamebible is avalible on the Ambrosia site.  :)

Yea, but the file is 14 meg (Yay can-and-string modems!) and is in a mac file format (which is understandable).

Its not in a Mac format.  It is just compressed using a compression commonly used in the Mac community.  Anyone can download and use it, there is nothing Mac specific about the files.  :)
