I just watched your vid on the latest update.
The question asked was how should disgruntled guards act. I say simple. They quit. Then you have to hire a new one and pay to re equip him. Well, I'm not sure how simple it will be programming wise, but you have already gone the distance of creating a whole new UI and parameter set for it.
That leads me to another staff dynamic I have always wanted to see. Staff reputation. I want to see guards with attributes like the prisoners have. A legendary guard could have a suppression effect, a friendly guard could have less of a prisoner antagonism, and a cowardly guard could run away from big conflicts, or even be bribed or extorted. Some may beat prisoners who complain, or some can talk them down. It could be worked into be triggered by how happy the staff is by their needs, and as usual their rep is revealed by snitches.
ALSO. It is still very needed to have 1 of 2 things.
A. A gang classification rating like security rating
B. Player dictated housing assignment.
Either of these will solve the gang housing problem.
I said back in the day that the automatic cell quality assignment was unnecessary, over kill and confusing. I'm sure it took a long time to program and implement, but what we really need is player assigned housing that can over ride the automatic placements. The problem is when a gang member goes to solitary. When he is done, the guards will only be concerned with what security level he is set at when replacing him to a cell.
The only work around we have is to change 2 of the gangs to minimum and medium security, then mix the third gang in with the rest of maximum population or make them Super max. There are problems with this.
1. I want to reserve Super max for those who commit murder, and house them in a separate unit. (I love the automatic security rating by criminal activity and the addition of murder to that list btw.)
2. I like to make max security prisons, but every time I have to downscale a prisoners security to separate gangs, I lose money on them. I want to only downgrade a security rating for the best behaved prisoners who can work in a kitchen without going on a rampage.
I like to make prisons as challenging as possible. All max inmates with gangs on and 1000 plus prisoners. Try it and see what I'm saying.
I know you are just about finished messing with this game, but if there is 1 more thing you ever do, please for the love of Christmas and the seasons greetings and shit, Santa me up some of this before closing the lid.
I would like to see option A over option B.
As always, thanks for the great game, and I'm glad it has been such a success. You deserved it.
