Improving translations

Is there a way to contribute to translations? Like one of the online tools to add / modify strings and others can review them? At best would be if an own translation file could be tested while playing without waiting for an update release.

I've seen quite a few mistranslations in the german translation, like confusion about play, which was translated to "wiedergeben" (like in play a video) not as "spielen" (like in play a game) and simliar mistakes.
I guess with some community tool you could get a much better translation fastly.

I once did a complete overhaul of the german translation of their previous game Darwinia because that had some major issues as well. I sent it to them, but apparently, they weren't interested; didn't even get a response

Ah well, at least I can play Darwinia with my own translation
