Windows Audio Hijack Bug

Evening all,

Wondering if anyone could replicate / shine any light on a problem I'm experiencing.

When I turn the volume down in the options menu of PO and exit without turning it back up again, the setting seems to override the audio options in Windows as well, even when PO is closed.
Example, I turn down volume setting in PO, exit, then try play an audio file in iTunes/Media Player and there is no sound but the file plays.

This is the case for both windows audio drivers and third party audio interface drivers too in my findings.

What do we all think?
Can anyone match it?

Don't have win7 to test atm, but doesn't it have the system 'volume mixer' with a slider fore each separate application, like win 10 does?
-If it does; use alt-tab and use that
-If not available in win 7 upgrade to 10 for free asap

(I would actually upgrade to 10 asap regardless)

Thanks.

Yes you can move the volume faders for each application, the problem is PA seems override the system volume fader as well as it's own thus muting everything.

If anyone else can replicate in W7 then I will submit to mantis.

Upgrading Windows is a none issue; Not everyone can or wants to upgrade either.

I agree, I still have a few systems running 8.1 ... production stuff is never ported without a hiccup in toolage or code..

I'm into PC's and have multiple machines at hand; I am not scolding you for either not upgrading or not having backups ...just saying(!).
(Windows 10 is pretty sweet and without big trouble for my custom rig.)

edit: If I may ask; Why not upgrade?
-And please don't tell me you don't have a genuine OS-
