Question about federal witness protection.

Postby danibw0i » Thu Oct 08, 2015 4:50 am

So I keep a free cellblock tagged for "Protected". So when I'm tasked with protecting 10 federal witnesses, I locate them, tag them with "protected" and "permanent lockdown", so they are being transferred into a cellblock with high grade rooms covering all needs and permanently locked down in that cellblock. However, every day I reschedule the calendar for all the classes, courses etc. And apparently the protected prisoners also under permanent lockdown are being scheduled to participate in the different classes and courses which usually ends in them getting killed in or around the classrooms.

It's the same with death row inmates, I have them placed in an isolated deathrow cellblock at permanent lockdown but they still participate in classes etc and sometimes end up getting killed because of that.

So I guess my question is: Are the ones under protective custody and/or permanent lockdown supposed to participate in the different freetime/work/educational activities?

I believe that if you go under deployment and change the workshop (or any room you want) to anything but protected they should not go there. For example a shared workshop allows anyone to enter, even protected or super max. Yet if they are in permanent lockdown then I have no idea how they are getting out. Maybe make sure that under their names it is permanent lockdown and their cell block wing is correct for their prisoner type. You will know if they are in permanent lockdown of they always have cuffs on.

as was mentioned one method to avoid the protected prisoners from going somewhere is to change its access rights to anything but general access or protected access. also if you make sure they don't have a free path to where you don't want them to go it helps as well. that means that you make staff only areas between the prisoners and where you don't want them to go, making sure they cant go around your staff only areas. another way to deal with the problem is to setup your regime in such a way that your protected prisoners don't interact with high or super max prisoners, and they will stay relatively safer.

here are a few screen shots of one way to do this.

I set my regime up in conviction so that my 2 PC prisoners were in lockup whenever the other prisoners were out and about
