Can gang members drop out of the gang?

It could be my error. But I have all of my gang members in supermax (only gang members). And every once in a while I find a supermax that isn't a gang member. Maybe one a week. I don't keep track of my gang numbers since they die as fast as they join usually
Has anybody else had similar experience?

You are probably seeing the result of automatic reclassification due to people killing each other.

I think you may be getting max sec confused with supermax.
