cctv ratio

Postby xJan » Sun Sep 06, 2015 9:56 pm

Ratio how many cameras a cctv monitor can handle. In my game, it took me 6 manned monitors to support 2 cameras. What?
( otherwise great work, the game had never a shutdown because of strange errors and it never corrupted my saves )
( I have read the READ BEFORE POSTING and searched for cctv )

EDIT: after manually clearing all connections and reconnecting the cameras 1 by 1, I can achive the 1 monitor to 8 camera ratio.
this seems like the cctv monitors dont adjust themselves optimally to the amount of given cameras.
Issue is ( partially ) closed

well, if you connect more then 8 cameras to an cctv the cctv will cycle through it. It doesnt check, what cameras from other cctv are shown.

Also beware of connecting the false direction

1st of all, the wires have direction.

So you have connect from the main unit to the client.

So you have to conncte from the CCTV-Monitor to the Camera, from the Door Control to the Door Servo, from the Door Timer to the Door servo, from the Phone Tap to the Phone. just in some less cases you connect the other ways, for example if you want to create an airlock, where you need the state of the other door.

2nd a CCTV Monitor can handle up to 8 cameras simoultaniously, you can connect more, but the monitor will cycle through them. the cameras arent divided regular on the monitors, if you connect multiple monitors with multiple cameras. as they just cycle through it can be, that 2 monitors watch the same camera, while another camera isnt watched at the moment.

if you want to have a backup CCTV-Monitor you 2 monitors with the same up to 8 cameras, except you only want to backup your important cameras, for example in holding cell.

also a nice idea is to cut the power of your cctv monitors on time you dont need to watch seem. (for example if you dont want to watch your working room while sleep hours. But remember, that your guard will take some time to get to the working position
