[Suggestion] Deployment Scheduler: always

Postby Salaander » Thu Sep 03, 2015 9:41 am

First of all I tried to find the solution to my suggestion by searching but I couldn't find it, so sorry if It's already possible or has been asked.

I like the Deployment Scheduler and micromanagement options, but when I already use all my 7 schedules and I want to say to a guard to patrol a route at ALL times, how do I do that? If it's not possible it would be a nice option.
I tried many things but it is quite hard to assign each guard to each of the seven different zones if I want to permanently patrol a route.

Looking forward to the answers and solution if there is one already.

Love the game, thank you! :)

Actually you can. Things set on the white square (no number) are on all the time. Or at least it use to. Haven't played this alpha.

Yes but I don't use white because what I put there are set for all the time like you said, but I want to schedule each period so the question is how do you set all time patrol if you have at least one custom patrol at each period so you left with no default/white period?

I was excited by your suggestion, Salaander. That would be very useful.

Then I read Shifty's reply, I tried changing one of my colored squares (I chose midnight to 1 am) and changed it white. Yes, it was part of my night patrol block, but I figured if something was always it would also be part of that block.

It turns out that if you schedule a patrol or station for that white block, that patrol/station is added to each of your other blocks. You can still customize the rest of your blocks, including getting rid of the patrol for some/all of the others. Not yet sure of all the details, but it looks like this would come in handy.

I hope that helps.

Yes it helps, thank you. This way you can designate all-time patrols, but I still feel it's kinda not the intended way.
It would be nice to have a All-Time or 0-24 button to do this immediately.

There is a Mantis ticket about increasing the available schedule numbers from seven which idea I support, so if in the future we would have a different schedule for each period (highly unlikely I know, but let's assume it) we wouldn't be able to designate all-time patrol without removing one first and I don't know if removing a full period (same colour and/or number) removes the set schedule for it or it is available if I put it back. (I'm at work so I can't test it now.)

So thanks again, this question for now has a solution, but I still propose for the future to have a designated button or way to set all-time patrols.

The schedual set of a numbers saves - if you remove or move a number, the deployments move and remove with it.
