Freefire

Postby Chibs » Sat Aug 08, 2015 6:09 pm

Allow us to manually select what guards should have freefire. Just because I want a guard with freefire in my supermax cellblock or guarding my armory, doesn't mean I want my armed guards to execute my high sec inmates as soon as they start a fight...

It's an emergency button, it's not meant for general use.

Will armed guards use their weapons, despite freefire being disabled, if they get beat up by inmates? Because I don't think they do...

Will you get incarcerated for allowing your guards to shoot anyone who even farts near them? Yes, I think you will...

I didn't design the game, but I understand why it has been made that way. Learn to deal with it.

If you end up in a situation where an armed guard blasts someone (if the guard or a staff member is in mortal danger), if the inmate survives, he should be locked in Supermax. If he dies, it will look bad to outside investors. If a situation arises where you can justify freefire, things are indeed very desperate for staff and snitches alike. And especially you. Their presence alone can suppress inmates, don't forget.

I allow freefire, mainly because I had High Sec and wanted to get some gang members in :P

Haha :P i just hit that button and forgot about it. Last night in my 200 man prison. I ended up killing like 64 prisoners. There are things worse than the official death penalty in my prison. Fear the shotgun guard :P Never seen so many bodies in the canteen. I can almost certaintly say the in mates will never fight in the canteen again.

IIRC, they will use their weapon without freefire if their life is in danger.

Or another guard. I think. That said, they can also get most inmates to surrender quickly by imitating shotguns and swearing at them.

Freefire is basically shoot first and ask questions later.

I think what you really want is freefire zones instead of freefire guards - as guards rotate / are faceless and go to highest priority job (patrol, guard, escort etc) when available.
As freefire is normally a last resort, a freefire zone would be useful maybe in your outside perimeters / armory to prevent escapes/stealing weapons. I guess then there should be a game balance between escapes and deaths as to prevent freefire being used as an easy way out for a badly deisgned/managed prison.
