Blink Screen of Death

Hello, I have an insane problem. When I start PA, the entire screen loads normally, and then BOOM everything blinks in a strobe like pattern and destroys my eyes. It blinks fast, but I can still endure it a tiny bit to reach the options menu, I have changed the graphics and windows modes and was able to make the blinking stop on a certain condition. And that is to revert the game to 640x480 where I cant even see the buttons.

I don't think this is a bug with the game, but I don't know what to change on my computer to fix it. Did anyone else ever experience this? Please Help, I quit PA 3 Alphas ago because of this and I forgot about it, after reinstalling it today, it's still there. :/

Do you have other games on that computer? Does any of them show any problems? Because this could be a hardware failure.
