Cooks won't cook

Postby Huey1010 » Sat Jun 20, 2015 1:42 pm

My apologies if this is in the wrong place..

So I have a problem, in short, my cooks won't cook. They used to work fine then just nothing, they stopped. I added more fridges as there was no room for ingredients. I've hired more cooks, fired more. It just doesn't wanna work!

Here is the prison; https://www.dropbox.com/s/tvyetkbm5npc2 ... rison?dl=0

Thanks in advance lads!

You haven't linked the cells to the canteen.

I've done that, nothing happens anyway.

Sigh. Please, always post how you fixed it so other people searching the same problem can know. Thanks.

I know the problem has already been fixed but I had a similar problem pop up on my game where there was this huge back up of mail satchels blocking my Delivery area. No new food could get into the Storage facility and thus none of my cooks would work!

The solution is a bigger delivery area or work out the mail more efficiently. Anyway if anyone else runs into the same problem I hope this helps!

I don't know what I did to fix it. If I did, I would've posted it. It just unfuc*ed itself. I don't know what happened. :x

I've spent a few hours figuring this out. Reloading after reloading. I've had this happen with my 3rd and 4th kitchen I built.

The problem for me was the trays (although I see plates on your screenshot, but maybe someone else had my problem). For some reason (has to be a bug) new trays don't come with any of the kitchen equipment after you already have like a kitchen or 2 running. The thing that solved it was connect another kitchen to the new kitchen, and it has to be in that order. One of the shifts later some cook will bring plates to that kitchen from the other kitchen and then they start eating.

Also I notice that the plates are unevenly distributed among all my kitchens, one has literally piles and piles of dirty and clean trays, while another (which about as many cooked meals) has only a few piles of clean ones. For a test I've connected every kitchen to every other both ways and the distribution stays the same.

Anyways the initial problem really should be fixed because the default food distribution won't get any trays in and your prisoners will eventually starve with serving tables full of food in front of them.

Btw @OP, your minimal security prisoners have more free time than an average free working man lol ;)
