I found posts about foundations but not THAT EXACT issue so i made a new topic, im sorry if its a duplicate anyways.
not much to say, everyone who played a little should have noticed IMHO.
who else does know/ use this?
1. walls are much more expensive which makes a smart gamer want to exploit this as much as possible, like building 1x100 foundations instead of walls ect ect ect
2. foundations are bugged ( i know several scenarios where it doesnt recognize the door/entrance or it just wont transform )
3. another example, using foundations in the form of 2x3 for each cell in a cell block, so that walls are auto created, since demolishing 1 square is much cheaper than building 4-5 multiplies with he number of cells, its much cheaper but hell of annoying
4. more general if u want two rooms near each other but with each own doors and separated with a wall, its cheaper to lay 2 foundations instead of building wall... this is counter intuitive, more susceptible to the buggy foundations, and takes more time (for the player, so its much more inconvenient), and its getting worse the more walls u want to save on.
there are basically two options which makes sense to me, you can vote what would be your fav A/B?
A) i think it would rly be good to lay founndations (indoor areas) WITHOUT walls... or....
B) like let's say PAY for each wall segment the normal price (50 bucks)

A
Foundations are the concrete/cement/earth whatever that you lay on the ground at whatever grade you desire.
"Framing" is when you begin the walls, and it is a _separate_ process entirely.
I was a carpenter. Briefly.

I would like A as well because this would also get rid of the requirement for pre-placing an entrance.
Re: [Exploit] Foundations cheaper than Walls - who else expl
The roof is actually incoorporated in the foundations, so while it is called foundations, it actually means roof.
I prefer solution B: you just pay extra for all the walls on the edge squares of the foundation.

Even so, the roof is not sustained by the walls but by the pillars, the walls come later.
Gameplay-wise I think having foundation not adding any walls to be the better solution, I understand though the need to have a completely functioning room as soon as the foundations are done.
At this point I think both solutions could be implemented: add a "Building (Foundations only)" to the menu, and add the price for the perimetral walls to the existing ones.
