[Idea] Secure Serving Table and Secure Visitation Table

Postby sebastiannielsen » Mon Oct 13, 2014 1:31 am

2 items:
Secure Serving Table:
Item type: Wall / Serving table.
Needs to be placed as a wall between a kitchen and canteen for it to function.
(item is itself a wall so a wall does not need to be built, eg placing this on a wall should do as same as for the door, demolishing any wall tiles that this item takes up)
Cooks will then be able to load/unload food into this serving table without ever leaving the kitchen.
Prisoners should be able to take food from this serving table wtihout being able to enter the kitchen.

Serving table should be considered to be on the "kitchen side", thus a prisoner who want to destroy this serving table needs to forcefully enter the kitchen first.
However, once the table is destroyed, the walkway in/out of the kitchen will be free.
Any canteen that are touching this "wall" should be considered having a serving table.

Secure Visitation Table:
Item type: Wall / Visitation table.
Placed in a visitation room.
Visitors will board one side and prisoners the other side.
Objects cannot be smuggled (With one exception*)
This object, to be functional, must be placed on a wall or between 2 visitation rooms. Any visitation room that touch this wall should be considered have a visitation table.
(The item is itself a wall so a wall does not need to be built, eg it should behave like door, once you Place the item, it will demolish the wall in the Squares that the item takes up)

*If the prisoner can access the visitation side of the table, or vice versa - either via orange "open all" doors or free walkway, they will attempt to do so to smuggle items. For it to function correctly, the visitator side needs to be behind some sort of a locked door, and also needs to be staff only.
The Secure Visitation table also needs to be arranged so visitors never pass through inmates areas. If a prisoner and visitor meet each other physically Before the visitor enters the visitation room, then items can be smuggled.
A prisoner will Always attempt to meet up with a visitor physically, why you then need to build your prison so the prisoner cannot "reach" the visitors by routing visitors through staffonly areas.

Visitation table should considered to be on the visitor side, eg a prisoner needs to break into the visitor side to destroy the secure visitation table.
But once destroyed, the walkway should be free in both ways.

they've probably been said before, but yup two things i'd like to see. Only caveat I'd add is a tray return. after food the inmates have to drop their trays back, through a slot in said wall/serving table, otherwise cooks will have to go into the canteen to get them back.

Also its rude. like bus your trays. no wonder they're in jail. just rude people.

I love these ideas! I've always tried to separate my visitation, this would make it possible.

Also, the serving table would make it a lot easier for one kitchen to service multiple canteens

or drop off on tray shelf (a cart for trays which commonly found in self serve cafes and restaurants - those carts are moved by washing staff (person who does washing the trays and plates)

or a speical belt that takes trays away - two types one is stacked carrier attached to belt or simple belt like airport baggage claim which sends the trays to washing staff
