Just thinking of another way of improving prisoner experience and couldn't find this in any search.
How about a program to encourage prisoners to write a journal? Could be done pretty cheaply, because all each inmate needs is a pencil and paper. Would hopefully improve their mood by allowing them to write down frustrations instead of acting on them. Obviously a source of weapons as well, since a sharp pencil makes a good shiv!
If you wanted to take it up a level, the journals could be readable with some basic stuff that would give players an insight into how individuals are feeling. Basically an individual text version of what the psychologist tells you about the whole prison. It could work as a way of turning your prisoners into "real" people as well. This part might not be worth the programming time though, since I don't know if anyone would actually use it!

Re: Suggestion: Prisoner Journals
Spacebase DF-9 does this in the form of the "Spaceface" tab where you can see what each of your toons is thinking. It's a good idea, but in practice gets extremely repetitive...

Re: Suggestion: Prisoner Journals
It's a good idea and I thought of something that may link into alpha 24, it's a new way to transfer information about your prison to guards ( like saying which prisoner has what ) and it's safer than going to the chiefs office, but if a prisoner gets a hold on him his suspicion meter goes up 100%?
