[suggestion] Lethal force zones

Postby MFWIC » Wed Aug 13, 2014 2:13 am

I had an idea when I was putting armed guards into door control rooms to help secure them against prisoners rioting - simply put the ability to flag certain rooms or areas of my prison to authorize my guards to shoot prisoners on sight.

You probably should open a suggestion on the feedback tracker.

I agree.

Nothing like having the prisoner feel like they've escape only to have run into a 'free fire' zone around the building. Also, why don't we actually HAVE sniper towers?

The art assets are there, my guess is that they're working out how rifles and all the associated mechanics will work.

Yes! With snipertowers and these free fire zones escaping would be way harder, which is good. Because when gangs come to place and more smart escapes will probably be made with a set group. You could make a free too fire zone outside the outer fence of prison for snipers too shoot at will if they reach to close to the end of map.

Right now escaping is a bit of a non-issue.

The only times i've ever had prisoners escape is when i've been upgrading or undertaking major building or redesign work.

I've not had a tunnel dug beyond one or two tiles in several alphas.

Even then, you just insta hire a K9 unit ahead of the prisoner and he's caught.

I'd like to see razor wire added and shears or cutters being a contraband item used to cut through wire fences. Also Flood lighting towers, could have a high eletrical use.

Ram raids etc.
Wire fence scaling (perhaps difficult to show)
Exterior no mans land zones

In reality, most US prisons have armed guards on a vehicle patrol outside the perimiter fence with a single verbal warning before shooting to kill, so I do think freefire zones shoutl be added. I'm not sure if prisoners flagged as escaping are kill on sight anyway reguardless of the weapons free toggle?
