Level 1, 2, 3 riots?

Postby Alpatron » Mon Jul 28, 2014 2:06 pm

When I was browsing the "Sounds.dat" file I found 3 files labeled "RiotMus_Stage1_Loop", "RiotMus_Stage2V2_Loop" and "RiotMus_Stage3_Loop"
so what are these 3 levels of riots, are they in the game yet? If so what determines when the riot is level 1, 2 or 3?

PS: Also found 3 Radio tuning sounds, and sounds for an Arcade machine :-D

Oh nice, I've only messed around with images in the past (got to see those gun racks and stuff before implemented) but those are promising. I would not be surprised if the 3 riot files are in the game since you can already have like fights, then have them take over a building. Are they sound effects or angry voices?

As for the other stuff, honestly the more sources of entertainment and comfort we can get in the game, the more fun.

I've checked in Windows Media Player and they are just the 3 "layers" of the 1 riot soundtrack separated :(

Weird right?

But still, we know they will add radios and arcade machines. :-)

Just because the files are there it doesn't mean that they'll be used.

The electric chair is used in the game, even if it's (currently) only in the tutorial.

the chair is used as a demo....it will never be used by the player....you said that yourself.

i have two chairs ouside the entrance of my new prison... "used" only as decoration.

Can you provide a citation to that effect? Last I heard, Chris *was* planning on adding the electric chair to the sandbox mode---he simply has no intention of allowing the player to use execution as a punishment.

That would always be done by the courts, and the prison would simply be enacting that punishment. I would like to get the death penalty into the sandbox, but it has to be balanced right - you'll be holding these guys for a long time while their case goes through appeal.

Both posts were almost a year ago, however, so he may have changed his mind.

you just provided a "citation" to that yourself "no intention of allowing the player to use execution as a punishment" ...we will not be able to use the chair ourselves... if anything we may get 8-32 dri's a day, to be automatically (with no input from the user) killed 1 a day or so (after a wait of 15 years on average).

Let's see if I can steer it back. Seems like an interesting topic.

Alpatron, is there anything else you may have found within the sound files that may give us an idea as to what future releases may contain? I never knew the arcade machine had a sound attached to it, even though the actual object isn't released yet. The same can be said for the radio. Do some digging! Maybe some extra goodies can be found.

It is very possible that these sounds may never be used and will end up getting scrapped, but it is a fun discovery.

Cheers!
