-- all above are done and counted --

We have smashed 777 bugs! Who could expect that!

We need to click through the issues in the Feedback state as the number of those is growing. Mostly it is 'is this still happening', which we should close after, say, a week without reply.

Everything up to (and including) viewtopic.php?p=567111#p567111 is done and counted, so we are just two posts behind.

Motherbug list has been updated. I have done an assignment or two today.

I think I found a new source of bugs: death. There are funny subissues like:
  • Corpses delivered to hearse turn flashlights on at night
  • Dead Foreman walks back to his office
  • Dead Prisoners say they are well treated and cause alive prisoners to behave better
  • Dead Janitor still mops on morgue slab.

It seems like http://bugs.introversion.co.uk/view.php?id=27 is not resolved. Proof available in: http://bugs.introversion.co.uk/view.php?id=4653
Should #27 be reopened or left in its state?

Same with http://bugs.introversion.co.uk/view.php?id=311 (Proof: http://bugs.introversion.co.uk/view.php?id=4687)

---

There are lots of texture bugs incoming for 1D.
Somehow we need to reduce the incoming-rate of duplicates... processing the new bugreports keeps me from getting on with the old ones.

Would a texture-motherbug make sense? There are also a lot of ancient texture bugs in the database that could use a bit of structure.

About unresolved issues - I asked John via secret channel.

I think a texture-motherbug would make sense. A rule of thumb is that if you are considering whether to make a motherbug, it is probably worth it, because in your mind you already grouped issues by some kind of criteria. The question is whether you want to share it with others. As we have thousands of issues, it might be worth to create some way to browse them other than searching and filtering.

We have smashed 831 bugs! Well done everyone!

Except people who keep duplicating bugs and adding work for us. That's not good.

I stopped at the beginning of viewtopic.php?p=567191#p567191

@mhoram: I am not setting "related to" relations as it is unclear whether they help or clutter things up. duplicate and child/parent relations do, but everything is related to something somehow. Are two bugs about speed related to each other just because they are about game speed? I think we either make a mother bug for them if there are many, or just keep them separate (like other 2k bugs;) ).

It is taking the easy way out. But it is the correct thing in a few situations where specific problems are distinct but caused by tightly linked code.
