Suggestion: Interdiction zones

Postby Kyrah Abattoir » Tue Apr 29, 2014 11:08 pm

Currently the game let you set staff only areas but it only apply to whole rooms. What could be nice is being able to setup, freeform "interdiction zones" that could be placed in areas such as between double fences (for those that like that design) near the main gates and other critical areas of your prison. Guards who see a prisoner enter these zones will attempt to neutralize him. Likewise prisoners will know that they are not supposed to be in these areas and they won't loiter in them (or maybe they will if nobody is watching). They would obviously ignore this interdiction if their goal is to escape.

The reason i think this feature could be useful, is that at the moment there really isn't much that allow you to detect an 'in progress" escape attempt such as the "tailgating" type, or prisoners making a run for it. You should be able to define such a zone while you need to open the fence perimeter for example (extension, adding a new building) so that nearby guards will attempt to neutralize prisoners trying to use the temporary breach.
