{Suggestion} Cells, Floors and Design

Assigned Cells - What I mean is you select a Prisoner and there will be a button saying Assign to cell.

Floors - Similar to the Sims 3 style so you can have multiple floors in a prison. I know it would take ages to create but it would be a awesome feature to have.

Design - In the new Alpha Update the feature of spawing lakes was added but what if when you created a new prison you were given the ability to choose where the lake spawned and where the road spawned. To give more customisation.

Is this besides the automated cell assignment? I can see a reason to do it but I can also see why it's automated entirely.

It's never going to happen, people do want it but it won't be implemented because the devs never intended to have them.

I'm somewhat certain there'll be some lake tools but the road is a bit more weird and doesn't seem easily modified yet.

You can already assign a prisoner by selecting him and then right clicking a cell, but it only works untill the prisoner is reassigned for eg solitary.

I wouldn't give up hope for multiple floor just yet, so many people want this feature that either the dev's are going to implement it or somebody will make a mod for it as soon as that's possible.

I'd like to be able to assign a prisoner to a specific cell. It would be useful if (when) we get finer control over regimes and separation.

I don't think multiple floors would be a good idea with the current graphical representation and that isn't going to change. It'd be lovely if it wasn't suggested every week.

Modding it in could be a possibility for those who really want it but I have my doubts about whether it'd be possible to add with a mod.

1. Software development isn't a democracy, hence the number of people that say that want a given feature is no indication of whether or not it will happen.
2. Multiple floors is not something that can be modded into the game without access to the source code, so either the devs will implement the feature (which seems unlikely), or you are going to have to wait until IV release the source code (assuming that they ever do).

You never know what they are working on and I'm guessing they are going to be working on pa for a while longer so I would not rule anything out.

considering I bought this game under Early Access, I expect my opinion to be heard, if the devs won't implement it I want to hear a why from them. Especially since this seems like a popular request

besides if they didn't want this kind of opinions they should not have gone early access.

on the suggestion, I think it would be cool to have floors and underground areas, lots of creative room there. At very least there should be different levels in specific situations like sniper towers

In the many, many other threads where this has come up, several good reasons for not implementing multiple floors have been suggested. These include aesthetics, UI clutter, game complexity, and the challenges of implementing such a feature when it wasn't planned for from day one. Chris has no doubt read the various opinions and made a decision one way or the other. The varied opinions of the many early access buyers have no doubt been heard, thus you (and everyone else) has gotten what they paid for. You were not promised an answer to your opinion, and demanding a developer response is, frankly, a little bit childish.

No one said that IV don't want to hear opinions. I only noted that the popularity of a feature request does not correlate with its implementation, and that it would be impossible for a modder to implement some features, such as multiple floors. Both were (and are) statements of fact. I didn't tell anyone not to express an opinion.

That's why what we are doing here are called Suggestions. We suggest some ideas, but the dev have no obligation in any way to follow them and even to read them. Them and only them can decide what to put in the game and what to not put in.

I would like to be able to assign a prisoner to a certain cell.

Currently I have a guy who's in for 3 counts of murder, he'll be there for life and he regularly attacks guards or anyone else. I want him to stay in his cell but the game likes to have the guards move him around to other cells or even sometimes a holding cell with a bunch of people. I can permanently lock the cell door he's in and he'll be left alone but he won't get fed. I want to be able to say hey this is his cell, don't move him, just feed him (he has a shower in the cell yes I'm nice :p)

You can research permement punishment so you can put him on lockdown for ever - the guards will still bring meals but he will be locked in that cell. There is also a solitary version as well

i would like a book of blueprints of saved designs for easier copying and also the muiltplie floors should be feastabile because if i built more blocks on other side of road - with gates there is risk of prisoner escaping unescorted if gate is opening for trucks so a basement layer could allow rooms built belowground or 2nd floor to allow build bridges and also gives option for snipers to shoot from above

It would be nice if you could assign individual cells to specific categories of prisnors rather than having to do that to the entire cell block.
