IV tweeted this afternoon that they have a bug where a prisoner escaped through a tunnel but handcuffed himself after he got out of the prison.

Next Alpha content = Tunnels?

hmmm....

If you look closely you can see they put out more tweets towards the end of the month to advertise PA. It's all part of a plan....

well.. chris demonstrated tunnels already on the eurogamer expo in september 2012, so it woudn't be very surprising that after almost a year the tunneling feature is ready to be released.

If they managed to show a fully working tunnel system in 2012, then I fucking hope that isn't all we're gonna see.
I donno, development has felt like 1 week of work, 3 weeks sitting around to me, not that much stuff done.
As an example, the whole contraband system was nearly completed right after their last alpha, as shown on their livestream.
But I guess that's just me.

Tunnels & guard dogs seem sensible.

We'll just have to wait & see :)

That's because you're not a developer and thus don't know what you're talking about.

I guess they will release to K9-units to hunt down the released...

Anyway they did a lot last month, they had the shakedown ready soon but they have also built a stable contraband model to continue on, like the anger model.

And on Christmas Day he'll change appearance and start talking with a Scottish accent.

I've very much looking forward to this update, I'm hoping to see something new to add to my prisons. Love getting new rooms or objects to use.

Don't get wrong me, I love the contraband addition but new buildings etc is my true desire in this next update.

On the other hand, every update is amazing, I love being part of Alpha games, so interesting to see this game develop over the past 12months that I've been following it

It's like Christmass every 30 days, if you have a thick skin for bugs.

Personally tunneling would be great, but if they make it so that released prisoners can go through employee only areas. It is already a little too easy for prisoners to walk out without being stopped unless you have a 'employee only' perimeter around exits but that messes with the releases.

Also here's hoping that the non weapon contraband will start to play a bigger factor, I really enjoyed that update.

The prisoners already go through staff only area's

Anyway, the thing is just that Prison Architect consists of 2 parts; the Prison part and the Architecture part.

The architecture part is already quite far with all the cells and stuff (dorms would be so sweet tough)

However the prison part isn't, they took a huge step with the contraband but it's still not fun to play as the warden. Since they at the end of the alpha 11 update said they had huge things planned for alpha 12 and 13, linking them together probably means alpha 13 will also have the gameplay theme.

PS. this is even better: https://twitter.com/IVSoftware/status/3 ... 40/photo/1
