[Suggestion] Faster game speed

Postby Mikki-10 » Mon Aug 12, 2013 10:37 pm

Faster game speed:idea:

It could be great if you could put the game speed up to 3x or 4x (or maby even more), speed of "normal" time. (now it is only 2x speed).
And if so the guards discover a fight (or riots) then lowers game time down to 1x speed eg so we can deal with it.

(I do not know if it has been suggested) :?:

No point implementing this yet. Wait until the game has been optimised or you'll introduce even more complaints about lag.

True, and the simulation as of alpha 12 is crippled by lag, as in some stuff just stops working entirely. It's still a good suggestion though.

+1

And yes, now is not yet the time to fiddle with that sort of thing in the game.

As of now, even 1x bogs down after a while and needs a restart/reload at least once per game "day" to get speed/smoothness back. As it's apparently needed to get the prisoners to change clothes in A12 anyway, it's a "two for the price of one" bounce. :)

When even 1x is bogging down, selecting 2x makes no difference. I suppose the devs could add some placebo buttons quite easily for us if they don't mind loads of "Hey! this doesn't work!" comments/bug reports, etc.... ;)

YES YES YES, the final version of this game definitely needs a much faster setting. It's quite silly for an in-game day to take 24 minutes before we get a new influx of cash. Especially when those 24 minutes are composed mostly of waiting.

Yes, that is a penguin with rabies. Deal with it.

Yes, definitely need more speed options later on. And having the game slow back down to normal (or pause?) when an event happens would be cool. And if all the prisoners are in their cells for the night, maybe it should auto-speed up, ala The Sims? With an option to turn that off, of course. That might ruin the catching of prisoners attempting to escape during the night, but you probably shouldn't know if that happened until the morning anyway if you don't have proper security measures. It would only pause as an event if they were spotted! Hehehe

Faster game speed? :?
Imagine this: you would lose control over your prison after some time I think...

Also I think when the game gets more complete, there will probably be more missions/scenarios and other types of events to keep you busy. Because things might be a bit boring now with the lack of features, you want it faster, it might be different when all features, and the scenario/missions are in.
