Prisoners avoid metal detectors?

I noticed in the A12 video that prisoners will try to avoid metal detectors.


So, I built a cell block with the most direct route to it containing an unavoidable metal detector (which mostly sounds on false positives). My thinking was this would force those trying to avoid it to take the 'long way round' and draw my attention to them.

One guy kept going around the cell block to avoid the detector but everytime i search him (& his cell) it came up with nothing.


Has anyone tried anything similar or noticed people avoiding the detectors?

Maybe he's got non-metallic contraband like drugs or cigarettes.

Just put detectors on all Canteen doors. Every meal, every prisoner has to go through them that way...

I only have them there and at the prison entrance at the moment.

I don't even bother with one for the entrance any longer. I search every prisoner by hand as they arrive, which should be an automatic thing in my book.
