[suggestion] Deliverable blood/plasma

Postby paktsardines » Sat Aug 03, 2013 1:35 am

I think it would be cool to have periodic deliveries of blood/plasma to your prison to heal your wounded (say, those wounded beyond 50%). It would be an extra incentive against fights because you'd have limited blood with which to heal them. Of course, extra blood/plasma could also be ordered if needed, for a moderate sum. ;)

What does this add, other than a bottleneck to rapid healing? Even sheet metal adds the constraint of your workmen being busy during the day.

Like GC13, I'm Nay for gameplay reasons. Well thought out but probably not fun.

It adds depth. Chefs need food to do their jobs, doctors need supplies to do theirs.

Blood also needs to be cooled. So, infirmary would also need a fridge. I like it.

I agree with Axios, if your cooks need food to do their jod, medicine would be the "best" supply for doctors to use, i just think that blood/plasma is something that is good for 1 kind of use, nothing else

But yes i do realise that doctors currently only heal people, but there might be future features added

As long as workers can handle the extra work.

Because they can't.

Not at all...

Although I think a general 'medicine' supply would suffice.

Eh, IMO it adds fiddly complexity to a part of the game that you usually don't use anyway. There has to be something more interesting to put in instead.

In this vein: there should be periodic deliveries of office supplies (pencils, paper, cigs, booze). The bureaucrats need stuff to do their jobs, too. I would also like to suggest a more aesthetically pleasing "small trashcan" which would be appropriate for offices, and a "medical wastebin" for sharps and other bio-hazardous materials.

This might add depth, but it also adds yet another delivery on the queue for your workmen to bring the product back from the delivery zone. I'm not sure that the benefit of depth would outweigh the additional tedium with blood/medicine deliveries. Doesn't really seem to be necessary or really beneficial enough to merit adding this.

Perhaps, depending on the number of deliveries, it would not be so bad, but it just seems like 'something else' that your guys have to do other than what you're building.

I think a more general "medicines" category would be better than something as specific as blood, but I do like the idea.

I also think, once prisoners are more fleshed out, that some prisoners have preexisting medical conditions that require some bit of medication daily.

That's actually quite a bit more interesting, but I have to wonder how it would serve gameplay... maybe if IV fleshes out the medical system it could be fun in some way?
