video not working?

hello,

i've gotten prison architect on steam and after i changed the setting to windowed mode in lower resolution the game crashed. after force quitting it and relaunching it the game the sound works, the steam in-game overlay works but the game screen is just black. I can hear what's going on in the game like police sirens but not see.

the problem is solved when I launch in safe mode but that mode is somewhat bugged and restricted to small windowed size.

please help!

I haven't seen this before. Try changing your resolution and screen size while in safe mode and then restarting the game.

If that fails you can also change your video settings in your preferences file in:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect

I've tried both solutions and neither solved the issue. also i've tried to "verify integrity of game" in the steam properties, uninstalled and reinstalled and it still the game has black screen...

ah i got it to work again! i'm not sure if the following was intentional: the fog of war when launched in safe mode isn't displayed properly (i.e. there is no gray fog) but this happens.
