Laundry need a fix

Postby Petrini » Sat Jun 08, 2013 6:48 pm

The laundry need a fix! At the moment the prisoner keep spreading out the newly ironed uniforms in ALL the present laundry carts, leaving none empty to do pick up runs.

An easy solution to this would be that ironed uniforms are stacked on the table (or floor if no table is present). Then, when its time to distribute new uniforms the prisoner takes the amount of uniforms needed for "his" block, places them in an empty cart and goes to place them on the beds. This would make it so that there's allways empty carts available since you wouldn't end up with 2-3 uniforms in each of your landry cart.

Haven't come across this particular issue but adding more laundry baskets would probably get around it. Odd though that they're distributing them 2-3 in each basket.

I've had similar issues and just ended up filling the place with baskets to try and prevent it

1 cart is enough. Seriously. Maybe two, but that's maximum.

yeah, after the guy who iron the uniforms have finished 2 one of the other prisoners pick them up and put them in an empty cart, this repeats until the ironing guy is done or there are no more empty carts, then they start puting all the following uniforms in the closest cart.

Adding new carts fixes the problem for that day, the next day you´ll have the same problem again with prisoners filling up all the empty carts with 2-3 uniforms Before starting to stack all in the closest cart. That is why I suggested that the prisoners store ironed uniforms on a table (just like they do with number plates in the work shop) instead of in empty carts.

I go for 1 cart per cellblock + 1-2 extra for pickups

Do they not already do this? They certainly store fresh (ie new) uniforms on a table.

Laundry does need a overhall, its too buggy and dangerous for both staff and prisoners. Also it seems workers just sit in laundry and do nothing. Just doesn't feel very effective or efficient atm. Needs work

Agreed that it needs polish, but it does at least work on small prisons if you put the laundry dead center of the cellblocks. It's irritating to see them put 1 uniform into a basket to take away, but eventually it all works out.
