argh Alpha10 changed regime!!

Postby Petrini » Fri Jun 07, 2013 4:24 pm

pre-alpha10 prisoners sat in their cell and watched tv/phoned family/showered/whatever. Now they all go to sleep. Please Introversion change it back so prisoners only sleep during "sleep" hours, my well planned regime is all screwed up now... :(

This only happens between certain hours and only if prisoners sleep need is high so it shouldn't require much tweaking in the regime. I personally find it much better as it is now.

What's a working regime then? I have been trying since alpha10 came out to get my prison running smoothly, but so far back-to-back rioting non stop.

I fond prisoners only need like 4 hours of sleep to fully satisfy the need. If you put free time directly after sleep then they will keep sleeping, but if you put an hour of shower time followed by free time then all should be well

My regime was;

12.00pm SLEEP
01.00am SLEEP
02.00am SLEEP
03.00am SLEEP
04.00am SLEEP
05.00am SLEEP
06.00am NOTHING (ie they woke up, went to toilet, showered, Watch tv etc etc)
07.00am SHOWER (was only needed to get them to change uniform since they had showered in their cells allready)
08.00am EAT
09.00am WORK
10.00am WORK
11.00am FREE TIME (pee break etc)
12.00pm WORK
01.00pm WORK
02.00pm WORK
03.00pm EAT
04.00pm WORK
05.00pm WORK
06.00pm WORK
07.00pm FREE TIME
08.00pm YARD
09.00pm YARD
10.00pm EAT
11.00pm NOTHING (again watch tv, phone home, pee etc etc)

This regime worked perfect for me... Now it doesn't. prisoners no longer wake up at 6am, and they go to bed at 11pm... Totally screwing with my plan to get their other needs met.

Flip your shower time and nothing time, I bet you'll see it go back to normal. "Nothing" and free time won't force a prisoner out of bed, they will probably just stay asleep. Shower time will force them out.

I know I could do that, but by having the prisoners needs met before they went to the showers prevented the daily "shower time riots" because they had allready peed, showered, called their family and watched some tv and therefor all were happy campers. If you start the morning with SHOWER all their needs will be high and they will fight...

They only sleep during free time in certain hours so if you move your whole regime forward/back it should be fine

My Alpha 10 Regime schedule looks like:

~~
12.00pm SLEEP
01.00am SLEEP
02.00am SLEEP
03.00am SLEEP
04.00am SLEEP
05.00am Shower
06.00am Free Time
07.00am Eat
08.00am WORK
09.00am WORK
10.00am WORK
11.00am WORK
12.00pm WORK
01.00pm Free Time
02.00pm Free Time
03.00pm WORK
04.00pm WORK
05.00pm WORK
06.00pm WORK
07.00pm Eat
08.00pm Free Time
09.00pm Free Time
10.00pm SLEEP
11.00pm SLEEP
~~

It's a harsh 9hr work day. They don't need to eat 3 times a day, twice is fine. Sometimes I shift around the midday free time to three hours because of 'comfort' takes up a LOT OF TIME to get low again. In the current state I can let it run off screen without incidents.

What would be nice is an enhanced regime schedule, like being able to set 15 minute intervals instead of 1 hour. Due to the efficient layout my prisoners take less than half an hour for eating, that's half an hour that could be spent more wisely with laundry and plate stamping! Also, in the morning, they're all showered after 30 minutes, standing around doing nothing but complaining about bladder and bowels for 30 minutes while some peed into the showers, which gave me the intelligent idea: put toilets right into the showers, and hey, they pee and poo in that time. Best idea ever in that case.

And, additional, I personally will move back to using 2 blocks wide corridors, speeds up everything. Even if it's only 5 minutes, that's enough time for a 'chat' with the family via phone booth withoug being forced to go to eat right before reaching the booth.

Due to path finding and sometimes 'stupid' placement of laundry baskets it's required to have such long long work times.
