Remove name in the game prisoners
I know that people payed for the ability to name people and set their descriptions and I don't want to offend anybody. The truth is, some of the names and descriptions suck. I'm not trying to call out anybody in particular, but some of them are awful, with really silly descriptions. Every time I see something silly like that, it really takes me out of the game and I just roll my eyes. I would really like it if there was some way to disable these names.

I think that we should get the option when we start a map on whether or not to allow intake of name-in-game prisoners so the only ones that will come in are ones we request manually. I think to take name-in-game out entirely would be a poor idea and would result in much revenue loss since many people upgraded tiers just to get to name their very own prisoner.
Yes, that is a penguin with rabies. Deal with it.

Tho I agree that some bios and names are terrible...I, along with everyone else that did name in the game, paid for the ability to have our...well, name in the game. My game, your game, everyones game. It was that part of the package that made it attractive. I like the fact that someone, somewhere can't wait for the death row update so they can kill me off
same way that I threw a name in the game guy named Alex into a flaming cell because he killed my entire cooking staff. Fuck you Alex, wherever you are <3
Taking that privilege away or making it option just makes my and everyone's extra support for the game seem less important.
Though I do believe they should ban improper capitalization of names...nothing gets my OCD more irritated than the prisoner with a non capitalized nametag.
Edit: And if me paying 20 extra bucks and talking about my "extra support" makes you
(understandable), remember that some people paid $250 for the ability to be in your game....and if I was one of them, I would be pissed if that was undermined. Why you would pay $250 to have the artist render your face into the game just to put a dumb bio next to it is beyond me, but even some of those are kinda dumb.

Removing it from the game completely would anger of a lot of people and is possibly illegal. But I'm all for giving players an option when starting a new prison to accept them or not, I'm annoyed by it as well. There's stupid names, stupid crimes, bad spelling, symbols in names, not to mention it's weird that it's common to see somebodies bio claiming the to be a mass murderer, and for their charges to only list Arson or something completely unrelated. I know it's rare for a simulator to take its self completely seriously, and humor in them is common, but half of the names are just stupid, and they feel out of place.
After submitting my name, I got an email a few days later notifying me that my name had been reviewed and accepted (or something along those lines). Now, from looking at all the idiotic names, its fairly obvious that no one actually looks at those things, but someone seriously should. Like I said, a lot of them are crap...but instead of undermining the feature, maybe the review process for the name in the game should be a bit more strict. I'm not talking censorship....but symbols, improper capitalization in names, blank last names (irritates me the most)...should be rejected, either though someone spending one afternoon to scan through them all, or some script in the name in the game maker form that rejects these things.
When it comes to peoples descriptions not pairing up with the charges....let people have their creativity. Its kinda nitpicking if thats the issue. I seriously think people can look over such a minor thing.
Also, to to the OP , I understand the whole concept of 'breaking the immersion' and these kinda things taking you out of the game. That is a real problem that developers have to tackle in most games, but honestly that is kinda a odd argument in this type of game, where immersion isn't meant the focus. I enjoy PA immensely...but never once did I actually feel like I was deeply immersed of my prison or my prisoners, simply because thats not the point. If I did, I would have to take a moment of silence every time one of my lemmin- I mean workmen get killed
At the end of the day...this game is MEANT to be kinda quirky.

Either an option to filter on the user end, or much tighter controls from the PA Devs to make sure they all at least look good (in terms of punctuation, capitalization, spelling etc).

When I was making my prisoner (The Name in the Game version only), from what I saw, there was no option to choose the crime committed, only create the bio. I have brought my own prisoner in several times and each time the crime was different and so was the model for it.

Yeah, there's one that shows up as "Unknown" when you hover over him. It's quite distracting.
