Successful install on Gentoo Linux

Postby direvus » Mon Jun 03, 2013 9:27 pm

Just reporting that I was able to install and play the game just fine via Steam on Gentoo amd64 + XFCE.

Of course, getting Steam installed on Gentoo was a slight pain in the ass, but that's not IV's problem =)

Thanks for the Linux port!

There's a Steam overlay you can use. Makes Steam installation painless.

Well it's not as straightforward as that. There are actually two different overlays that provide a steam build, there's "steam" and also "gamerlay". I tried using the steam overlay first, and it totally failed to build libsdl. So I filed a bug to the maintainer and then tried the "gamerlay" overlay, and that one worked fine. Good times.

It must be gamerlay I got it from then (I've been playing through some older Windows games so haven't been on Gentoo for a few weeks).
