You can edit them out of your savegame if you want. Other than that, we'll just have to wait until their removal is implemented. Since no movable objects can be dismantled, I don't think it's as easy as flicking a boolean.

Seconded. Also, sometimes at the end of a work shift it gets left at a really in-opportune place, and I'd like to clear it out so that I can build something where the basket just happens to be

You can use the Bulldoze tool, click on the laundry basket and one inmate will go to dump it.(In working time)

I had two stuck laundry baskets last night with a "No Route" warning for its job. Removed all the walls around the baskets and job remained failed. Built some walls on top of the basket hoping a worker would dislodge it - didn't work.

Used the bulldoze tool and selected the wall under the basket, and everything became queued for destruction. A worker came and removed the wall, then a prisoner assigned to laundry removed the uniforms and dumped them, then another prisoner came and dumped the laundry basket.

Uniforms were immediately replaced in my delivery area. Ordered some more baskets into my laundry. Problem solved.
