Workshop & Metalsheets - Bad planning

Postby VforVitor » Sun May 05, 2013 10:36 am

Just to know, the fact that only inmates can get the sheets on delivery ruined one of my saves where I finished the workshop before the first inmate arrival.
Not the sheets truck is blocking every inmate arrival and I can't dump them.
Couldn't the construct wokers get those as well?

For me workmen get the metal sheets (and my workers tasks are left unfinished for that time)

It actually depends on whether you surrounded your delivery area with a fence or not. If you encapsulated your delivery area your prisoners will unload the trucks. If the delivery area is open, your workmen are unloading the truks. The downside of having an "open" delivery zone is that your prisoners will try to escape when fetching the sheet metal from the delivery zone.

what ray4ever said is spot on.

FYI, if you need a quick fix for that, you can just delete the delivery area where it's touching the road & the truck will drive on.
You'll have to pay for the materials but your trucks will start moving again :)

If prisoners only unload trucks when the deliveryarea is encapsuled, how can they escape?!

For me it works fine without any enclosement around my delivery area.

Prisoners will not move through a staff only zone to pick up metal sheets.
Make sure the delivery area and your workshop are separated by a staff only zone and workmen will fetch the metal sheets and bring them to the workshop, leaving your prisoners free to stamp more license plates.
