My prisoners keep trying to escape

Postby mocap » Sat Apr 27, 2013 2:46 am

I mean every prisoner, even low sec, all of them are running right at the main exit. It is a solitary door so it won't break and my guards come beat them all up. But after they are taken to their punishment and have served it, their needs are way up and they try to break for it again. So I am in this loop and I don't know how to fix it.
Releasing the game to everyone would be socialism, and we Americans don't cotton to socialism. Even though most Americans don't know what socialism is we know we don't like it.

Was getting rectangle blood but what happens is that they leave their cells usually they see someone else running and then they run. I changed it to Free Time to try and fix it but it didn't help.

PS: Don't insult my building skills too much.

Could you post a daytime pic as well, its hard to see the prison in the night-time shots.
Does you prison have any areas open to the outside, if so, then that would be the issue.

I can't for sure say it is why, but building a wall/fence on the outermost edge of the map will bug the game out. In more ways than one. A good tip is to never build anything less than 3 squares from the edge, that way you also leave room for the internal pathfinding calculations. This is ofcourse not by design, and will most likely be fixed during beta testing or earlier. Hope that helps! =)

Well you said your using a solitary door. I have yet to see anyone do this but do you mind changing it to a normal door or jail door? Maybe its a bug because solitary doors are for solitary :)

You got a lot of your doors stuck to open always, put them back to normal, and this should split up the trouble makers.

I'll try that, I was doing it to speed up the moment of the prisoners to solitary and if my staff needed to run

Have you paid attention to this?

If you have a "solitary door" as your main entrance, then irrespective of your intended motivation as to the strength of the material, then this is likely your problem. Replace this with a "jail door" and there will be less escape attempts.

having a solitary door is likely not the issue. i use them all the time for my entrance and never have problems..

my bet is on that all the doors are on stay open.. he would have a direct path threw his delivery room and even though there not going threw that path that could be the problem.

I think I am going to make a whole new prison, this one is going to be hard to fix and It's not like I took too long making it

How many sluices do you have between the common areas and total freedom? It doesn't seem like your Deliveries area is secured.
I block access into the deliveries area, and have another fence surrounding the deliveries area, (with gates in and out for trucks and visitors of course).
But i guess that the generally bad tempers are to blame. Bad moods lead to thoughts of escape, lead to solitary, leads to more thoughts of escape.

with needs that high (in the above pic) , they always want to get out....happens to me all the time, i can't really get all the needs down low enough (fast enough) to keep them happy.

You have neither windows, nor televisions in their cells... They will go stir crazy. Also, what does your regime look like?
