What would you like to see in alpha 10?

Postby notsatan » Fri Apr 26, 2013 12:33 am

The subject says it all really, I'm just wondering what kind of content people are hoping will be released in the next version of the game.

Guns, Prisoner pipeline, or dogs would be nice.

Though it will most likely just be something from the list Chris has about what to make next.
Yes, that is a penguin with rabies. Deal with it.

Sweatbox - in case they let us torture prisoners

Library - maybe add a prisoner job of delivering/picking up books from cells

A way to get rid of dead bodies. (Not sure if this is in 9 or not)

(Christopher1006, I had a brand new prisoner smuggle a shotgun into my new alpha 9 prison - first time I'd seen that, but I haven't played a ton)

The main problem with punishing prisoners is that it doesn't really do anything. There's no way to "break" a prisoner, you can only get your kicks by watching their needs shoot up, and when they get out of punishment, they're more of a problem than when they went in. We need a way to intimidate prisoners so that they don't complain even if they have really high needs, or punishment is pointless.

Or at least modify behavior somehow, so punishment has some kind of point to it. Right now it's just a timeout before the same problem starts again.

This is what solitary confinement is for, you can't torture prisoners, its not bloody grantanamo bay.

As for guns, I don't know if thats the right way to go for a cartoony humorous game.

I know you Americans like torturing and shooting stuff. But I don't think the rest of us should have to play in your world of hatred, excessive force and negativity whilst we play a humurous cartoony number. Liturally don't understand why USA has to use heavily armed prison guards on prisoners who are punching one another with plastic sporks! Those TV shows are rediculious!

@Snori that shotgun isn't technicaly supposed to be in game, guns will be coming later and I expect it to be one of the first "moral upgrades" where you'll get a significant advantage out of use of firearms but you will be able to choose not to as well.

@Dosedmonkey I agree torture ismay be pushing the idea of this game a bit far depending on how they mean torture but this is not a humorous cartoon game. The graphics may be deceiving but the game is in reality rather dark and gritty especially if you outline it with the poloroids like the ones in the tutorial. Also this game won't force you to run Guantanamo bay but at the same time it won't force you to run a hotel so that your prisoners are trying to get arrested just to live there, one of the key parts about this game that Chris and Mark talk about is choice. Someone wants to run a hellhole? If they can manage it right go ahead. You want to run a 6 star hotel for mass murders? If you can make it work why not.

Something I would love to see is the addition of riot guards and more violent prisoners.

Well, keeping it realistic - The tunnelling and riot systems that are close to completion are the two most interesting to me. Prisoner pipeline is up there but I'm not that fussed with it until there is more of a goal with the prisoners (like education for example) or the parole system that Chris was talking about (but have it take conduct into account with some incentive to have prisoners released early for the player).

Before the Alpha 10 make it more easier to escape, the guards/we should get more options to allay and control our guests. In my current game i have 2 prisoners who start a fight 3-4 times a day - and i can't do anything. The Solitary has no effect on them.. so whats now? (After the last shower-battle 25 prisoners and 12 guards need a medical treatment and 2 prisoners escaped with stolen keys.)

We would need a better Solitary-system for determent. A straitjacket for prisoners who always destroy their cell during the night time. And perhaps our psychiatrist can talk to prisoners to cool them down.

Dosedmonkey,

1. Maybe you shouldn't be playing a prison game based on U.S. Prisons (A reason I wish the garbage was in Imperial units not Metric). We could base it off of Chile's penal system but there is no fun with dirt floors and bowls of corn meal slid under a wooden door.

2. You are a loud mouth third world country idiot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_Chile

Er back on topic...

I'd really love to see the prisoner pipeline implemented; IMO it'd be nearly a complete game if we got that.

first and foremost .... remove the dead bodies.

give guards more weapons, more options (beat up, handcuff on the spot, ect.)

make more ways to make money (cheating via savegame is ok, but i want something better) .... oh and yes i know there is a way to make money in alpha 9...(i just want more ways)

if its at all possible increase the size of the total prison area, "large" just isnt big enough. (in my opinion) - i would like to see xtra large (at least double the size of large)

I would enjoy if they fixed major bugs and fixed lag. Also, giving solitary a use would be nice
