Postby daniele01 » Thu Apr 25, 2013 4:31 pm

My Prisoners leave laundry baskets everywhere no full cycle of laundary has been achieved as there are now baskets and prionsers arent collecting the irt washing. Furthermore is there anyway to stop prisoners just from ditching a task if theres a change in schedual they leave everything everywhere

I found that if a laundry basket is blocked, canceling the task and letting it re-initialize sometimes clears it. As for not dropping baskets, no way to do that at present. The best solution I've found is to put the laundry inside the cell block behind at least one locked door, so if a basket gets dropped off and blocks a door security is not compromised.

It seems Laundry is the new food-death-spiral. I had a good set up for two dozen prisoners, got the laundry under control. But when I increased capacity to 60+, laundry wasn't arriving in a timely manner anymore.
As someone who never used workshops in their old form, these new ones allow tons of dollars added everyday. About 1000 per tablesaw/press combo in an 8 hour work period. Tripling capacity in a couple of days was something I couldn't have done previously.

You can take a look at them if you like:

63 inmate prison, bad laundry: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1qE8lx_N5GVU1JTVEd5Z1Y5OTA/edit?usp=sharing

The problem with laundry and bigger prisons is that they don't use the nearest laundry.
In my prison they always go to the one laundry I've built first. When I build a new one with laundry baskets, they take the baskets to the first one and then chill all day long in the empty one.

So there is no way to shorten their ways which leads to unfinished business everyday.

Also you can't dismantle or dump the baskets so I have like 30 baskets now which also reduces the efficiency.

very much agreed. the game isn't very playable in its current state due to the riots negative clothing thoughts give in my opinion.

i personally haven't played any since alpha 6 and was excited for the recent changes, but the bugginess of the laundry system is a real bummer.

hope they fix it in alpha 10. the small prisons are fun, but everything goes into a death spiral for me after about 30 prisoners

Glad it's not just me... Well game-breaking bugs are what alpha is all about. :)

Glad I'm not the only one having "clothing problems" ;)

I have fresh suits available to all.............yet they refuse to change and at least 5 inmates consistently whine about "dirty clothes" while breaking and beating the crap out of everyone.

THE SUITS ARE RIGHT THERE!

I even attempted to add a forced shower time....they still don't change lol...or at least it doesn't register.

Also there is one notorious basket full of clean clothes that just "fell over" in the middle of my main cell block, hilariously leaving a ton of fresh suits ready for wearing...which no one ever picks up to deliver....EVER. (it been at least 5 in game days)

I'm attempting to make note of most of the issues I see...going to concentrate on the laundry process bugs - it's a great idea and addition.

One definite suggestion: Add a animation to in-use washing machines...either I don't hear/see it or there isn't one. Sometimes my laundry worker prisoners stand around and I'm not sure if they are waiting for the machine or if other issues are happening in my laundry process such as not enough baskets. I also placed tables in the laundry room...never seen a single folded item land there....almost like they take them straight to the basket?

I'd like it if we could have something similar to guard patrols for the laundry, that way we could have a couple of smaller laundrys that would do the route we set therefore speeding up the whole process.

Also an option when you click on a prisoner and you can send them to get changed into a clean uniform.

Or some sort of locker room for them to change in instead of getting changed in cells? Its a bit weird to see a bunch of naked men running down the corridor or across the yard to get to and from the shower.

Does anyone else has the impression the laundry doesn't have enough clothes ?
I seem to have clothes for only 2/3rd of my inmate. That wouldn't be a problem if only they changed which cell has clothes every day, but they don't.
I wonder if that's a general problem or just that i'm that bad at this ?

Yeah, I had the same issue and I edited my savegame and added some additional clothes (i.e. about two times the quantity of prisoners). This resolved most of the issues with laundry for me (although they used only the first laundry room).

Hello.

To make prisoners change their clothes, add a shower time first and then a "Nothing" after that. This will make them change clothes. At least that fixed my problem.

Make them have a shower time, followed by a freetime, work period, or a nothing.

If you find yourself short of clothes, they are either still in the washing machine, or your prisoners may have destroyed them when raging out, especailly at night time in their cells. You get more suits they are automatically purchased, however you have to wait, and they will cost you money, no money, no new suits.

Check out my video to see how they work with shower time followed by work period...

My goons seemed to sort themselves out after a while, but it took time.
I streched all of the time to 'work time' to maximise the amount of fresh clothes.
I also looked for the 'maximum fabric softener option'...but couldnt find it :)

One problem, none of my workers are brave enough to go into the maximum security zone of my prison to deliver fresh clothes. Its a right mess in there, they aint too happy.

I might close it down and see if that helps

i have an idea to fix laundry and be able to keep it fairly similar to the way it is now. though I would bet I'm not the first one to think of this. how about. reverse the laundry routine,

what i mean by this. prisoners will still roll the laundry carts around and pick up dirty laundry.. return it to the laundry room and clean it.. but then instead of putting the clean laundry in the carts for delivery they will instead put clean uniforms on tables. prisoners will then be responsible for fetching there own uniforms when theirs get dirty and bringing them to there cells for future use.

now i know there is a prisoner store in a future update.. that prisoners with jobs can spend there hard earned cash in.. well how about in said store prisoners can get a delivery service for there laundry to so they do not have to pick up there uniforms , this could then be the part where prisoners deliver uniforms like now. only.. prisoners would move faster to deliver those uniforms as there being paid for the delivery.. and would not want to be get a steak knife in the side for not providing the service that they got paid for. this could also be where all those prisoners standing around doing NOTHING come into play also where all those extra laundry carts come into play.

that also being said (extra laundry carts) the game should realize it only needs to send 1 cart to each cell block to pick up uniforms and not be sending every cart out as soon as possible because it can to pick up dirty laundry.
