Suggestion: Multiple Floors

Postby kengo » Wed Apr 24, 2013 1:03 pm

Most buildings have multiple floors so why not be able to build multiple floors for the prison?

Because it already received a 'no' from chris.

I think it would be a logistical nightmare in terms of coding, graphics, pathing, etc. It is not worth the work for such minimal feature.

Shame, though rather obvious suggestion :)

I was thinking about multiple floors as most prisons have them. But not only would it be (slightly) complicated to program, but it meant the player could not view everything at once. So would not play as an advantage in my mind at all.

Can't find it on the blog right now and twitter keeps messages only for 'limited' time.
But it was already mentioned as it was suggested multiple times and turned down.

He never said no. I follow him on twitter, and he said nothing on the blog either.

It might be cool, if they can get it to work.

But i still think they should put effort into making cells able to have 2 prisoners. it might not sound much, but it would do much.

Having double beds those tall ones. able to have 2 or maybe 3 in a cell.

The game atm isnt very good at utilizing space. everything just seems to take up to much, and their isnt enough wall stuff and double height stuff to better use it.

It would definitely add to the "making it harder to keep track of your prisoners". But then the guys in cells higher than ground floor, needs more ways to break out. or they should be able to tunnel in walls or floor.

Having more then one bed in a cell would be a good idea yes, then you could save cash on minimum security prisoners.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_-WWJ38Y4I It's confirmed about twenty three and a half minutes into this video that they're planning on not doing multiple floors.

Z levels would just make the game rather annoying as that isn't how it's designed. I think a good compromise would be the ability to buy land from the government to extend with land costing a bit more each time you buy new sections. That way you're still able to expand but you won't be able to cover the US with it due to costs and you'll still be presented with the challenges that come with expansion.
Yes, that is a penguin with rabies. Deal with it.
